And just like that, I have an early favorite for the title of ‘2012’s Most Anticipated.” Victor Villarreal of Cap’n Jazz, Owls, and Joan of Arc fame. A master guitarist, and inspiration to and forerunner of today’s emo and indie rock, he will be releasing his very first proper solo album, Invisible Cinema, on January 24th via Joyful Noise [link]. While it may seem like everyone and their long-lost cousin are releasing solo albums, this is one that I expect will be truly noteworthy, a creative step above many others.
